RTF stands for ready to finish. This Design Ready kitchen arrives built and sheathed in cement board, ready for the exterior finish you choose, such as stone veneer, brick, stucco or tile. Finish materials are not included, so you can match your home exactly.

Yes. The island works with natural gas or propane appliances. Appliances are sold separately, so the fuel type follows the appliances you install.

The modules arrive with cement board installed, so setup is straightforward. Your installer cuts the appliance openings on site to fit the appliances you choose, or we can cut them for an added fee. Gas, water and electrical connections should be made by licensed professionals, and your finish can be applied by you or a mason.

No. Design Ready kitchens ship ready to finish, so the countertop material is not included. You or your contractor can add granite, stone, concrete, tile or another countertop that matches your home.

The cement board takes most masonry finishes: stone veneer, brick, stucco or tile, so the kitchen can match your house. You, your mason or your contractor apply the finish and set the countertop.

How the Design Ready RTF System Works

Design Ready is the Big Ridge ready to finish (RTF) system. Each kitchen is built at the factory on a fully welded commercial grade galvanized steel frame and wrapped in cement board, with the appliance openings and vents cut on site to fit the appliances you choose. It arrives as a complete structure without the final exterior, so you, your mason or your contractor can apply stone veneer, brick, stucco, tile or another finish that matches your home. You get the speed of a prefab outdoor kitchen with the custom look of a masonry build.

Warranty: The Big Ridge frame and cabinets carry our 20 Year Limited Warranty. Appliances and other components made by other brands are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty.

When marked Ships in 3 to 5 Business Days, your kitchen is already built and leaves our warehouse within 3 to 5 business days.

All other kitchens leave our warehouse in 7 to 10 business days.

Custom orders have longer lead times, which your designer will confirm at order time.

If you selected Backyard Concierge or Platinum Concierge Delivery, your kitchen will be picked up and delivered by the same technicians who will assemble it. Your delivery and installation date will be coordinated when our concierge team contacts you to schedule service.

However, please note that freight carriers operate independently, and we cannot guarantee exact delivery dates or times.
